I hope
all of you have thoroughly enjoyed your summer.
I hope it has been a time of rest and relaxation. These times are important to the body just as
times of work are important. In fact we
are all about to enter another season of work as school starts back. Let me encourage you not to dread going back
to school, but see it for the opportunity it is, an opportunity to learn, grow,
and encourage others. Many of you have
allowed God to work in your life over the summer, especially during our youth
camp, and for that I am very proud of you.
Soon you will have the opportunity to encourage others and share with
them the grace that God has given to you.
Many students in your school will return to school for just another
year, hoping to pass, and get through as soon as possible. But life should be more than this, and life
can be more than this. Make the most of
the opportunities God has given to you.
We will
have one more opportunity to bond and enjoy life together as a youth group
before school starts back. We will have
a lock-out Friday August 15th and 16th. We will meet here at the church at 5:30 on
Friday for dinner and devotion, (in the youth room). We will leave the church at 7:30 for Batt Bowl
off of Cassat Avenue in Jacksonville. We
will bowl from 9 till 11:00. Then we will
travel to Adventure landing for a night of go karts, putt putt, laser tag, and
arcades. We will return to the church
around 5:30am. Make sure that you plan
to come and bring a friend. Invite
someone that normally doesn’t come to church.
Cost is $30 a person. Make sure
that you have a current Medical Release Form on file at the church.
I am
looking forward to training and discipling those of you that want to go further
in your walk with Christ. He is pleased
when we respond and open our lives to Him.
As you return to school remember to do those things that help you
maintain your relationship with Christ, such as reading your bible, prayer,
attending church, fellowship, and reaching out.
Doing these things will help you remain faithful to Christ. I love all of you and look forward to doing
life with you throughout this school year.
